101 Poster Series

Based on the book “101 Things To Learn In Art School” by Kit White, this poster series brings to life the pages of sage Art School advice describing the visual human experience in all its glory both technical, practical, and philosophical. Current versions of the series exist in sculptural form and are created out of numerical order. To view older versions click here.

004: Art Is The Product Of Process

Material: Plaster

Inspired by Stephen Hawking’s theory of time (part of which argues that time is indeed pear-shaped), the sculpted poster quantifies what exactly “process” is and how it can be visualized and measured. The artichoke, a symbol in its own right as an organic multi-layered form, also happens to act as the perfect shape for the progression and growth of the idea, or at the very least how it reflects my process. Time here is defined by both linearity and depth and is as multidimensional as the idea. Spacetime becomes Ideatime, becomes the process which makes Art.

013: Each Generation Gets to Reinvent Art In Its Own Image

Cinema 4D

What is the image of our generation? A data-driven collective bent on reconstructing a biased history of itself, the world, and how it came to be in it. This is a noble quest, a crusade for truth, a desire for justice. But historical truth is subjective and wrought with holes and the fickleness of human memory. Truth is worthy of pursuit, but perhaps we ought to be cautious crowning ourselves as its prophet.
